We have a permanent opportunity for either an Electrical System Designer or Senior Electrical System Designer to join our Operations Division located at Greenslopes, and are inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates.
About the Roles
As an Electrical System Designer, you provide complex overhead and underground distribution designs, estimates and other project deliverables prepared in accordance with current standards to meet quality, cost, and time targets across Energy Queensland.
As a Senior Electrical System Designer, you will lead the delivery of comprehensive design, works co-ordination and estimating across a broad range of complex design skills in accordance with current standards to meet quality, cost, and time targets for the Energy Queensland Distribution Network.
Annual salary ranges from $89K to $135K + Super; 9 or 10-day fortnight. The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position.
To apply for either of these roles it is essential you have:-
- The appropriate electrical work licence issued in accordance with the Electrical Safety Regulation 2013 viz Linesperson, Electrical Fitter Mechanic or Electrical Jointer.
- Experience in the electricity industry.
Electrical System Designer
- The ability to provide technical advice and guidance to stakeholders and respond to customer enquiries associated with assigned designed projects.
- The ability to prepare distribution network, public lighting based on prescriptive standards, and communication network low complexity designs and estimates in accordance with relevant standards using expert knowledge and design systems in a timely, fit for purpose and cost-effective manner.
- The ability to prepare, check, and approve complex distribution network, public lighting based on prescriptive standards, and communication network designs and estimates in accordance with relevant standards using expert knowledge and design systems in a timely, fit for purpose and cost-effective manner.
- Leadership skills including demonstrated experience in the planning and management of work activities and the ability to provide coaching and mentoring to staff.
