Job description

Under limited direction, undertake the following duties:

  • Provide curatorial expertise, present and profile the collection and provide high-level stakeholder management and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive creative interpretation and content creation outcomes and utilise writing and research skills to tell the national story. 
  • Supervise the team and provide informed guidance; multitask projects and associated collection activities; to deliver projects with set deadlines in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Liaise, develop, and maintain internal stakeholder and external relationships.
  • Provide strong project management and administrative skills across databases, applications, and digital delivery platforms.

Selection Criteria 

In relation to the ‘Job Details’ listed above, concisely outline your skills, experience, and achievements against each of the following areas:

  1. Demonstrated skills and experience working in, and knowledge of Australia’s audiovisual industries with an appreciation of Australian art and culture.
  2. Proven experience in motivating teams and delivering innovative or complex curatorial projects.
  3. Proven experience in supervising a curatorial team, across a range of collection activities (across the analogue and digital archiving space) to meet project deadlines.
  4. Demonstrated negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to liaise and communicate concisely and effectively with team members, senior management, external stakeholders, and general audiences.
  5. Proven experience in managing projects across a range of platforms and an understanding of collection databases.

Request

  • A relevant tertiary degree and/or equivalent experience in a related cultural or industry environment.

Eligibility 
To be eligible for this position you must:

  • Be an Australian Citizen
  • Satisfactorily complete an Australian Federal Police National Police Check
