Our work is delivered through individual service delivery, Population level health promotion programs and capacity building initiates to members of priority populations on priority issues.The Aboriginal Health Unit is seeking for a highly reliable Administration Officer who will assist to provide Administrative Support to the Director Aboriginal Health and the Aboriginal Health Unit. We are looking for a highly organised individual who will assist in monitoring the work flow between the Aboriginal Health Director and key internal and external parties to ensure priority deadlines are met. Applicants must have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and have established links with their local Aboriginal community.

  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with the local Aboriginal community, having knowledge of key Aboriginal services and cultural protocols.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive administrative skills including experience with minute-taking, records management systems and databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex tasks, exercise judgement and solve problems.
  • Highly developed computer literacy skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and desktop publishing software.
  • Highly developed Interpersonal, verbal and written communication and skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under limited direction, with strong organisational skills, ability to monitor and prioritise workflow and excellent time management.
  • Current Driver’s Licence with the ability to travel to locations across the District for work purposes.
