Aboriginal Alcohol and Other Drugs Worker - Part time

WHOS Hawkesbury Region Day Program, located at Windsor, has a part position available for an Aboriginal AOD Worker, three days per week.
This position is available to Aboriginal identified applicants only.
Key responsibilities for the position are to provide the WHOS Day Program range of services to clients in a culturally appropriate and sensitive manner. This includes the use of WHOS assessment and care planning tools, and group work materials. Training on the use of these will be provided.
The successful applicant will be skilled in:- Addressing harmful AOD use as it relates to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people
- AOD assessment and referral, case management, one to one support and groupwork
- Providing AOD information and education sessions in a culturally appropriate manner
- Liaison with allied service providers, in particular Aboriginal service providers
- The use of electronic client file and data management systems
- Qualifications in AOD, Community Services, Aboriginal Primary Health Care or related fields

Selection Criteria:
Being an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person is a genuine
occupational requirement for this position.
- Experience working in AOD, mental health or a related field
- Networking experience, including links with Aboriginal specific service providers
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current driver's license and satisfactory driver declaration
- Knowledge of AOD Harm Reduction approach
- Knowledge of Aboriginal specific services, AOD and health services in the Hawkesbury region
SCHADSI Award, based on qualifications and experience. Salary packaging is available.
