RGIT Australia, situated in Hobart, is looking for a highly motivated and dedicated Academic Coordinator to work within the academic team and lead the team.

This is a full-time position.

Position purpose

The Academic Coordinator will supervise academic operations, playing a critical role in advancing educational excellence, maintaining curriculum quality, and nurturing a positive learning atmosphere. The ideal candidate will possess a robust foundation in educational leadership, curriculum development, and faculty management.

Position responsibilities

1. Leadership and Management:

  • Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the academic programs.
  • Manage and mentor academic staff, promoting professional development and excellence.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards to ensure academic quality and compliance with accreditation requirements.

2. Curriculum Development:

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum.
  • Ensure that the curriculum meets educational standards and addresses the needs of students and the community.
  • Promote innovative teaching practices and the integration of technology in the classroom.

3. Quality Assurance:

  • Monitor and evaluate academic programs to ensure continuous improvement and high standards.
  • Lead accreditation and review processes to maintain institutional credibility and recognition.
  • Collect and analyze data to assess program effectiveness and make informed decisions.

4. Student Support:

  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Develop programs and initiatives to enhance student retention, success, and satisfaction.
  • Address student concerns and grievances related to academic matters.

5. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with other departments, stakeholders, and external partners to promote the institution's mission and goals.
  • Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and parents regarding academic policies, changes, and developments.
  • Represent the institution at academic conferences, workshops, and other events.

To be considered for this position, applicants need to have the following:

● Bachelor degree in Education, Educational Administration, or a related field.

● At least 2 years of experience in academic leadership roles.

● Proven track record in curriculum development and instructional design.

● Thorough understanding of educational policies, standards, and regulations.

● Experience in accreditation processes and ensuring education quality.

● Demonstrated leadership and management proficiency.

● Strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities.

● Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

● Ability to cultivate a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.

● Proficiency in educational technology and software.

● Strategic thinking with the capability to execute long-term plans.

● Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

● Effective organization and prioritization skills.

● Basic computer skills with the aptitude to learn new software.

● Maintaining professionalism and amiability in stakeholder interactions.

● Efficient time management.

● Personal accountability for work performance.

● Attention to detail.

● Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

● Efficient problem-solving skills.
