Job description

Job Description

Our Accelerating Business Growth team helps Australian companies to grow their business in Australia and international markets by assessing their international readiness, accessing government incentives, and providing practical export trade and foreign investment advice. Our diverse and multidisciplinary team has broad experience in helping companies access support through tax incentives, grants and other sources of funding. We assist our clients to develop an enhanced innovation and growth program that leverages government support.

Your Opportunity

Joining KPMG’s Accelerating Business Growth practice as a Manager in our Sydney Office, you will assume a senior role in facilitating and helping manage the team and wide range of innovative and dynamic clients, from wildlife parks to food manufacturers and hydrogen fuel cell developers. Our team offers a unique combination of both R&D Tax Incentive and Grant services (50/50) and supports clients of any size; from start ups with a $25k MVP grant to large clients applying for millions from federal manufacturing programs. In the middle of the fastest growing economical region in Australia and located in new offices right next to the train station, you will help achieve the ambitious growth plans for this team through your involvement in the following:

Manage the delivery of R&D Tax Incentive and Grant engagements and help identify new ways for them to accelerate their research, innovation and commercialisation goals.
Act as performance development manager to a growing team of (senior) consultants and help mentor them on their professional journey.
Work with other KPMG professionals to assist our clients with other matters that arise from the above, including those relating to IP, structuring, finance and tax.
Identify and pursue business development opportunities in the local market.
Manage complex projects and deliver client engagements on time and within budget.
Establish relationships with key stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem, such as the start up incubator WSU Launchpad

How are you extraordinary?

You are a people-person with a love of sharing your tax and acceleration expertise and tailoring your communication appropriately for subject matter experts and clients who want to learn more.

You are able to prepare high-quality client-ready deliverables and present to the senior leadership teams for review.

You actively seek out opportunities for growth, are comfortable challenging the status quo, and enjoy getting out of your comfort zone.

Your Experience

At KPMG, we believe diversity of thought, background and experience strengthens relationships and delivers meaningful benefits to our people, our clients, and communities. To be considered for this opportunity, your qualifications, skills & experience could include:

Three to five (or more) years of experience with the R&D tax incentive space is highly advantageous.
