Accountant

We are a full-service business advisory, accounting and financial planning firm of dedicated professionals who design solutions for our clients to achieve their lifestyle and business goals. With 30 employees in our office in Ivanhoe, we are looking for an experienced public practice accountant with a passion for reviewing work and coaching others. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge which they use to identify areas for employee development and to add value to each client engagement. This role will be key in ensuring the quality of the work meets our high standards and work turnaround timeframes are being achieved.  In addition, this role will;

• Support the team leader though developing and coaching junior team members and completing work reviews
• Prepare income tax returns and financial statements for all entities and trust
• Liaise with clients, managers and Senior staff members regarding queries
• Advise clients on business operations, regulatory matters, restructures, accounting system implementation, estate planning, succession planning
• Advise on other business-related matters e.g. fringe benefits tax, tax planning, payroll assistance and any other tax or business services related matters; and
• Ad hoc research work

Skill and Qualifications for success:

• Degree qualified and in the process of completing your CPA or CA
• At least 4 - 6 years of experience within a practice environment undertaking advisory, tax and accounting work.
• Posses Xero qualifications and have experience working with Xero
• Understanding of how to use MYOB and Reckons
• Ability to service a client's file autonomously and with minimal oversight from your Manager
• Experience managing clients and coaching staff to achieve positive outcomes.
• Exceptional communication and relationship management skills
• Excellent attention to detail, time management skills and ability to prioritise work 
• A desire to learn, share your knowledge and progress
