AddressWe are currently recruiting for an Accountant ASO5 ($54.18 per hour + super) with one of our state government clients for a long term contract with possibility of extension.
Responsibilities will include:
- Review suspect financial transactions and ensure correctly reflected in the ledger and assist business units to rectify issues at the root cause.
- Prepare reconciliations including: investigating and following up of outstanding items; balancing the general ledger and subsidiary systems where access is provided; collating returns; preparing calculations and journals for processing, and approving journals when required
- Provide assistance and other analytical tasks
To be considered for the role you will ideally have:
- Knowledge of financial accounting, financial accounting reporting functions
- Experience in analysing transactional data
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Finance
- Work experience in government (desirable)
- High accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel
