We have an opportunity for an experienced Accountant to join our team in the Cairns office. You will have day to day responsibility for the accounting function within the office and also provide direct and centralised accounting support to MAF Programmes and Support Departments.
Salary: $73,000 - $76,000 (Dependent on experience)

Responsibilities
The role will include overseeing the work of the CSO Finance Officer, including reviewing and authorising payments (with reference to the Area Finance Manager where applicable). You will manage sales and purchase ledger accounts and financial relationships with suppliers and customers, including our Resourcing Groups. You will also prepare statutory returns including BAS, management acounts and the year end audit file.
The role will also support both our PNG and Arnhem Land programmes and our centralised support functions.
Other responsibilities will include providing assistance with the preparation of annual budgets for relevant Support Departments and Programmes and advising the Area Finance Manager and International Finance Manager (Operations) of relevant changes in tax or other applicable legislaton to assist in ensuring ongoing legal compliance by MAF International. You will carry out the required statutory reporting and document filing for MAF International (the Australian legal entity), MAF Aviation Services Pty Limited and MAF International (Aviation Services) Pty Ltd

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential
Recognised professional accounting qualification
A degree from a recognised tertiary institution
At least 2 years post-qualification accounting experience
Working knowledge of MS Excel
