- Reporting to the Resort Directors or Resort Manager, the Financial Controller will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely completion of all aspects of the accounting functions, financial control functions and various administration duties.
- Coordinating or processing in any of the following areas along with other members of the Accounts & Administration team both onsite and offshore.
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Cashiering
- Payroll management
- Human Resource system management
- Cost Controls (Inventory control)
- Banking and Bank Reconciliations
- General Accounting functions
- Management & financial reporting and Business Analysis
- Forecasting & Budgeting
- Other general administration and accounting duties as required
- Responsible in processing of accounting documentation, processing standard accounting procedures, maintenance of financial records and production of relevant reports, to be completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Oversee the tasks to ensure the timely and accurate processing of those required tasks, in conjunction with the other members of the Accounts and Administration team include. These tasks may include, as per below
- Accounts Payable
- Preparation of invoice payment reports ready for authorisation.
- Sending authorised payment reports through to the bank for processing payments to suppliers
- Ensure that the allocation payments in the accounting system so as to ensure that accounting records are correct and current
- Income Audit
- Identify abnormal postings and investigate o Identify postings that require management authorisation and verify
- Report to the Resort Directors and Hotel Operations Manager with audit report
- Cashiering o Reconciliation of daily cashiering o Follow-up on variances and rectify
- Cost Controls (Inventory control)
- Identify areas of concern and address shortages or issues
- Analyse reporting results and ensure accountability for hotel property
- Banking o Complete bank reconciliations
- Payroll ( in the absence of the Payroll Officer)
- Enter in Roster schedules
- VAT & PAYE Returns and annual reconciliations
- General Accounting functions o General Ledger reconciliations
- Manage the team to ensure deadlines are being met
- Management reporting
- Preparing management financial and business analysis reports
- Preparing financial documentation for tax purposes
- Financial management
- Monitor cashflow to ensure business requirements are met
- Project management
- Assist with training programs and planning
- Other general Administration and accounting duties as required
- Ensure that all aspects of the operation are being operated in a financially viable manner and report any observations that need attention of management or investigation.
- Liaise with the Resort Manager and Resort Directors in regards to areas of concern and those requiring improvement
- Identify and implement procedures to ensure revenue maximisation and cost minimisation, in association with the Heads of Department and Resort Manager.
- Reporting on all matters to the Hotel Operations Manager and /or Resort Directors.
- Adhere to all Company guidelines and policies.
- Ensure that all aspects of the operation are being operated in a financially viable manner.
- Liaise with the Resort Manager and Resort Directors in regards to areas of concern and those requiring improvement
- Train, mentor and nurture staff to ensure they are able to complete their required duties to the standard as required by their job description and company standards, including staff not under your direct supervision, where required.
- Analysis results and reports to identify areas of concern, for abnormal activities or questionable results, investigate and resolve.
- Work with Resort Directors on financial management issues and business planning
- When dealing with any Guests and Employees of the Company – demonstrate diplomatic and respectful communication skills, racial tolerance, and respect for cultural/religious/sexual diversity.
