About the RoleThis is a transitional role as our accounts officer is retiring. You will receive training at the beginning of your tenure until everything is settled to transition your responsibilities smoothly. We aim to migrate all manual tasks to Xero.
As a Part-Time Accounts Officer, you'll play a crucial role in assisting with financial processes with precision and efficiency. Reporting to the Director and an external Accounts consultant, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounts, bookkeeping, and payroll independently.
Role is three (3) days a week. Experience with Xero is essential.
Role and Responsibilities:Accounts Receivable:
- Generating invoices to clients for payments
- Track expenses and process expense reports
- Post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records
- Reconcile accounts payables and receivables
- Account analysis and produce monthly reports, assist with month-end reconciliation
Accounts Payable:
- Processing bills
- Processing supplier invoices
- Processing staff expenses
- Processing credit notes and other data entries
- Collection of overdue accounts;
Payroll:
- Process payroll for over 12 permanent/casual employees, interpreting multiple established awards.
- Reconciliation of employee timesheets.
- Manage end-to-end payroll process including onboarding and terminations.
- Manage inquiries regarding payroll.
- Assist in tracking and managing employee leave requests, including vacation, sick leave, and other absences.
Bookkeeper:
- Bank Reconciliations
- Report Weekly Cashflow to the Director
- Be able to produce monthly, quarterly and year end financials reports.
- Prepare Quarterly BAS & GST Reports
- General data entry
- Monitoring and tracking monthly expenditure.
- Maintain orderly financial filing system
- Assist in month end accounts preparation.
- Responding to customer account queries in a professional and timely fashion.

- Minimum 5 years as accounts officer and bookkeeping
- Advanced experience in XERO
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel and Teams
- Must hold full working rights (Australian citizen or Permanent Resident)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organised with excellent time management, precise and accurate attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Architecture, Construction or Project-Based experience preferred;
- The desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
- CPA/CA qualification is a bonus
