What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Accounts payable
o Reconciliation of statements and liaison with suppliers. Reconcile Creditors in G/L;
o Ensure timely payment of accounts within agreed terms
o Reconciliation and payment of company credit card facilities
o Assist purchasing staff with credit applications / account enquiries.
Banking
o Update bank accounts and records daily, process overseas payments and liaise with bankers on transactional matters; reconcile bank to GL
o Assist in managing cash flow through forecasting payments as required by the Financial Controller to ensure we have sufficient funds available to meet obligations as they fall due.
Accounts Receivable
o Receipt customer payments in Costpoint and reconcile debtors to GL.
o Escalate aged debtors to project / sales staff and assist in chasing for payment.
Payroll
o Timely and accurate preparation and transmission of fortnightly payroll and distribution of pay slips.
o Attend to employee queries (in conjunction with HR manager as required)
o Calculate and remit PAYG, Payroll tax, FBT, Superannuation by the required date
o Liaise with government & insurance agencies as required to ensure allowances are paid on a timely basis and any recovery of costs is received.
o Reconcile payroll accounts / payments on monthly basis.
o Work with relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with STP reporting as required.
General
o Provide support to the annual statutory audit of Group’s statutory accounts, and Internal Audits (Micreo or L3Harris Corporate).
o Identify and develop process improvements to streamline financial processes and improve team efficiency.
o Ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures (including Sarbanes Oxley ‘SOX’ requirements) and L3Harris Corporate Accounting policies requirements
What you’ll bring
The role requires the following experience and skills:
Payroll experience, particularly with the WageEasy software and/or ADP payroll systems
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
