Hunter Trade College is an independent not-for-profit school and Registered Training Organisation (RTO). The College delivers the NSW Higher School Certificate, offering an innovative program incorporating VET trade studies in electrotechnology, automotive, construction and engineering, with a high focus on “hands-on” industry-based learning.
Join our award-winning team in this Accounts/Payroll role supporting our finance team. Reporting to the Finance Officer, the role will be responsible for:
- fortnightly administration and processing of payroll for our team,
- accounts payable/receivable transactions,
- general accounts functions such as bank reconciliations and general ledger transactions,
- support with financial reporting.
The position is part-time at 22.8 hours (0.6 FTE) per week. Days and hours may be flexible by agreement, although those days must include Tuesday and Wednesday. This position may also suit someone looking to work shorter hours over four days per week. The position attracts an annual leave entitlement of four (4) weeks per annum, pro rata.
About the successful candidate:
The successful candidate will hold experience and skills in the following areas:
- Relevant qualification in business, finance, commerce, or accounting, at Certificate III level or higher, or combination of study/experience to equivalent knowledge/skills
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- Proficient computing skills using spreadsheets, word processing, internet browsing, email accounting and payroll software.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to form good working relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
- Exemplary work ethic and a positive, friendly, can-do attitude
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Working with Children Check
- National Police Check
Desirable
- Experience using Xero accounts and payroll will be highly regarded.
- Previous experience in an education environment
