Peace Begins With Me – Therapeutic Services (‘PBWM’) is a young and vibrant mental health service provider focused on delivering evidence-based clinical interventions that result in improved client outcomes. About the Role

Given an increased demand for support from our clients. we are looking for registered Accredited Mental Health Social Workers and/or General Psychologists to join our team.

With PBWM, you will be working with individuals, couples, and families requiring a diverse range of mental health support. Utilising a trauma-informed, harm minimisation approach to assessment, treatment, and clinical service delivery, you will provide clinical therapeutic services including assessment and treatment to our clients. Further, opportunities may arise for the facilitation of group based programs..

Your key responsibilities will include

  • The provision of high-quality counselling services to clients of PBWM in line with all policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Identify, assess, plan, and implement effective interventions that are client-directed, collaborative, consultative, and promote overall independence and wellbeing.
  • Comply with relevant Code of Ethics practice guidelines.
  • On occasion, participate in the delivery and evaluation of group programs, including co-facilitation of groups with other members of the team.
  • Provide service coordination, consultation, and ongoing feedback to referring agents and other relevant agencies through case liaisons, preparation of high quality assessments, review and discharge reports, and communicating with external agencies.
  • Assist coordinated client care and support monitoring or accountability of clinical activities by documenting clinical services in the case record and completing appropriate and timely service statistics.
  • Advocate for clients in obtaining funding or in dealing with health or education agencies when necessary, including completion of all required documentation.
  • Network with other agencies in order to support and advocate for and on behalf of clients.

About You

We are looking for:

  • Qualifications in a relevant field of Social Work or Psychology.
  • For Social Workers - Mental Health Accreditation Qualification through the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • For Social Workers - current registration with AASW.
  • For Psychologists - current registration as a General Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • For Psychologists - Practice endorsements for Clinical Psychology and/or Counselling Psychology through AHPRA (not necessary but are highly desirable).
  • Current Victorian Working with Children (WWC) Check (or eligible for and committed to obtaining).
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or eligible for and committed to obtaining).
  • Knowledge and experience in counselling and therapeutic treatment services for individuals, couples and families presenting with multiple issues.
  • Knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice and therapeutic approaches (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), is highly desirable).
  • Capacity to provide high quality counselling to a diverse range of clients including clients with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, who identify as LGBTIQ, or live with a disability is highly desirable.
  • Experience in psychological assessment, maintaining clinical records, collating and analysing data, and the preparation of reports.
  • Skills in clinical case management, liaison, and developing professional networks.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Have a valid Australian Business Number (ABN).
  • Currently registered with Medicare as a provider (or eligible for registration and committed to obtaining).

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Subcontract
Part-time hours: 15-40 per week

Salary: $65,000.00 – $170,000.00 per year
