UnitingCare’s Pinangba service is inviting applications from Activities Officers to partner with individual clients in supporting their personalised activity program at our Star of the Sea Elders Village at Thursday Island.

The Pinangba service of Star of the Sea Elders Village, services the Torres Strait Islands. It prides itself on empowering our Elders in their day-to-day lives and improving health outcomes for Torres Strait Islander communities.
As Activities Officer, you will develop, implement and deliver quality leisure activities that meets the individual residents’ needs to enhance their quality of life. Working alongside a multi-disciplinary team, supporting one another to deliver outcomes and identifying opportunities for continuous improvements, centred on improving resident’s health and wellness within our facility.
Your skills and experience
- Current certificate III in Aged Care, Disability, Community Services or other relevant field
- Certificate III or IV Leisure and Lifestyle or willingness to obtain
- Current Drivers Licence
- Current first Aid and CPR certificates or willingness to obtain
- Relevant previous role and industry experience
- Demonstrated ability to use computer and automated technology.
Supporting our clients in the best way possible is important to us. To be employed by Blue Care, you will be required to complete the free NDIS Worker Orientation Module prior to commencement and provide a copy of your certificate on completion.
