The School of Culture, History and Language is the focus of research and teaching in Asian and Pacific humanities, social sciences and languages and seeks to build excellence in understanding and capability in engaging with the Asia and Pacific region. The key disciplines that are represented in the School are anthropology, archaeology, cultural studies, gender studies, history, linguistics, and languages, all contributing to the foundational knowledge of Asia and the Pacific.
The Korea Institute at The Australian National University was established in 2008 to foster a closer relationship between Australia and Korea through education, research, and dialogue, while also promoting Korea's engagement with the Asia-Pacific region.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an Administration Officer to provide management, and coordination of the day-to-day operations of the Korea Institute. The position will report to the Korea Institute Director and work closely with staff, students and visitors, and a variety of stakeholders.
In this role you will:
Act as the first point of contact, including responding to enquiries and providing first-level advice on a wide range of policies and procedures, redirecting enquiries to the relevant staff, when needed, and drafting various reports and general correspondence as requested.
Provide high level administrative support to the Director and Deputy Director.
Maintain the Institute’s website, social media presence, as well as publish a regular newsletter liaising with stakeholders to collect information and update relevant sections.
Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will have sound knowledge of and interest in event coordination and/or digital marketing and communications. Experience using Drupal will be advantageous for website updates.
