An exciting opportunity exists for an Administration Officer to join a dynamic team at Hornsby Hospital Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre Unit on a permanent part time basis.

Where you'll be working
Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre Unit is a 4 bed (soon to be 6) operating in Hornsby Ku-ring-Gai Hospital under the governance of NSLHD Mental Health Drug and Alcohol.

Each person’s unique journey of recovery will be supported by mental health drug and alcohol services in a way that fosters hope, purpose and resilience.

MHDA Statement of Intention

The Administrative Officer (AO) will assist with the provision of the Service by:

  • Presenting a professional first line contact to all users of the Service.
  • Maintaining accurate and complete Centre data base programs.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely data entry into Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Providing efficient and accurate administrative support for members of the health care team at designated centres under the direction of the Nursing Unit Manager

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
  • Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them
  • Excellent communication skills including accurate spelling, good comprehension, confidence in the spoken word and ability to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels
  • Capacity to work under broad supervision and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a team in a high pressure, high volume work environment
  • Demonstrated experience in word processing, spread sheet and database software
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Understanding of Medical Terminology, or willingness to undertake training
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence
