Role Scope
To provide administrative support, focusing on financial accounts, human resources and information management for government coordination activities across the Culture and Economic Participation Branch. The teams in this branch include Office of the Executive Director, Redress and Personal Histories, Community and Personal Histories, Economic Participation and the Cultural Heritage Unit.

Key responsibilities of this role:

  • Assist in the provision of effective cost centre management for through development, maintenance and review of office financial management systems, including activities such as processing invoices for payment, monitoring cost centre expenditure, ensuring accountability for monies received and paid and assist in the preparation of budget estimates, forecasts and reconciliations.
  • Oversee and administer departmental records management and information systems, including those relating to clients, staffing, finance, administrative policy and procedures.
  • Provide advice to internal and external clients and stakeholders to promote quality customer service.
  • Undertake appropriate personnel and workforce management administrative duties.
  • Provide confidential administrative support including word processing services as required.
  • Examine incoming correspondence and determine action required according to the priorities.
  • Contribute to a culture of client service, excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Organise meetings, conferences and travel arrangements and, as requested, attend meetings to record minutes.
  • General administrative duties as required.
  • All staff are responsible for identifying, managing and reporting risks relating to their work with the Department.
