Job description

The High-Risk Offender Management Unit (HROMU) team based in the Brisbane and Townsville regions is responsible for the supervision of offenders subject to a supervision order pursuant to the Dangerous Prisoners (Sexual Offenders) Act 2003 (DPSOA) residing throughout Queensland and the electronic monitoring of offenders on parole .
It comprises of the following work groups:
- HROMU Strategic Risk and Support, including the Clinical Support Unit;
- HROMU Operations SEQ, operating from tWacol
- HROMU Central to Far Northern, operating from Townsville; and
--The Electronic Monitoring and Surveillance Unit (EMSU), responsible for the Statewide GPS monitoring of DPSOA offenders and offenders subject to Parole Supervision.

The essential requirements for this role are:

  • Ability to meet the challenges of competing work demands and strict deadlines
  • Experience and understanding of case management in a human services or related field
  • Experience in or exposure to a criminal justice environment or similar human services area
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies and procedures
  • Well-developed written communication skills with the ability to provide high quality professional reports and submissions
  • Well-developed verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with a diverse client group and to effectively communicate with stakeholders in a manner appropriate to the audience
