About you:

This role closely works with the customer as well as external and internal stakeholders. You will have demonstrated customer engagement and stakeholder management skills.

The skills and abilities you will bring include (but are not limited to):

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline from a recognised institution, and/or equivalent relevant experience (preferably within the defence industry)
  • Significant experience in following a methodical approach to engineering change within a complex governance environment
  • Significant knowledge to assess Judgement of Significance (JoS)
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with personnel at different levels and from various disciplines
  • Exceptional planning and organization skills
  • Strong ability to progress track and follow up on planned activities
  • Exceptional teaming skills to build ongoing relationships with the Customer, Prime Contractor and Sub-contractors
  • Experience in the Australian Defence Industry
  • Current or re-instatable NV1 Australian Defence Security Clearance

Your responsibilities will include:

The Hobart Class Combat System is at the forefront of advanced naval technology and provides the strategic advantage for Defence.

Based at Garden Island, you will join the broader Naval Combat System (CS) Engineering Team within LMA.

The Aegis Engineering Process & Assurance Lead is primarily responsible for the development and execution of the Aegis Sustainment Engineering Change Process. You will engage with Customer stakeholders with respect to management of the Hobart Class Combat System (HCCS) Baseline Changes and progressive incorporation of Aegis Combat System (ACS) capability updates.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Establishing and maintaining the Sustainment Engineering Services framework for the delivery of Engineering Services to the Customer.
  • Establishing and maintaining the Peer Review Process for Engineering Changes and associated artefacts, developed in support of pre-engineered changes, managed thorough the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Sustainment case
  • Maintaining the Engineering Capability Assurance Matrix (ECAM) and the register of Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person (SQEP) to ensure compliance with governance frameworks
  • Consultation with the Royal Australian Navy and Subject Matter Experts on technical investigations and assist with the drafting of Liaison Information Transfer Reports to engage FMS support
  • Supporting the development and execution of FMS Through Life Support Business-to-Business Process that define responsibilities and interfaces for Destroyer Enterprise Stakeholders
  • Interacting with the Systems Engineering Integration Team and Transverse Engineering disciplines, including but not limited to: Security Assurance, Safety, and Speciality Engineering including ILS for the purposes of achieving design assurance and holistic system compliance
