Your Opportunity
Embark on a rewarding journey with our groundbreaking initiative to develop 950 social housing units and 130 Affordable Housing dwellings at Mission Australia's Midtown Macquarie Park. We are on a mission to reshape lives, and you have the chance to be a part of this transformative venture. Our vision is to turn Macquarie Park’s Ivanhoe Estate into a vibrant integrated neighbourhood, creating a haven for the disadvantaged and vulnerable, fostering an inclusive community.
As the Affordable Housing Officer, you would be responsible for advertising vacant properties, attracting potential tenants and coordinating property viewings.
Key responsibilities:

  • Day to day tenancy management including collecting and managing rent payments.
  • Advertise vacant properties, Utilising various channels to attract potential tenants, showcasing available Affordable Housing options.
  • Coordinate and conduct property viewings for prospective tenants and provide detailed information on property features, answer inquiries, and offer a welcoming environment.
  • Review and assess tenant applications, ensuring compliance with Affordable Housing guidelines, including conducting thorough background checks to evaluate prospective tenants' eligibility, facilitating a smooth sign-up process for successful tenants, and ensuring all necessary paperwork and documentation are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Communicate and set clear expectations for tenants regarding property care, responsibilities, and compliance with Affordable Housing guidelines.
  • Conduct periodic property inspections to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Represent Mission Australia Housing (MAH) interests at tribunal or court hearings as required.
  • Provide necessary documentation and information to support legal proceedings.
  • Generate and maintain administrative reports related to property leasing, tenant applications, and compliance.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and timely data entry.
  • Obtain or possess a White Card, if required.
Requirements for Success
  • Previous real estate/property management experience
  • Experience within the Community Housing sector
  • Understanding of Social Housing and Residential Tenancies Legislation in NSW
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members and stake holders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-developed time management skills and the ability to manage a range of tasks at any given time.
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Be available to conduct Saturday morning property viewings when required.
Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
