selectability provides and coordinate NDIS supports, Aged Care services, clinical services and deliver government funded mental wellbeing, carer and youth support programs. 

We are one of the largest providers of mental health services across our diverse footprint – extending from Mornington Island, Cairns to Rockhampton and Palm Island to Mount Isa … and growing.

About the role

An exciting opportunity awaits for Aged Care Workers to join the team. selectability, a reputable Aged Care provider will soon be providing supports in the Lower Gulf of North Queensland from late August. These positions offer a chance to work in a supportive and caring environment, making a positive impact on the lives of the older persons.

Aged Care Workers play a vital role in the lives of the older persons by providing quality, responsive and compassionate care that supports a trusted and long-term relationship with our older persons. Working closely with the Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and the collaborative healthcare team, the Aged Care Workers will provide person-centred care to support the older persons.

We offer an organised swing roster, with regular rotations and known leave dates, so you can plan your life around work. About you 

To be successful you must: 

  • have a positive attitude 
  • experience working in a team environment
  • possess clear and effective communication skills 
  • demonstrated understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage time
  • be able to follow policies and procedures at all times 
  • be able to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals 

You will also need:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support/ Home and Community Care/ Aged Care or equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience working in an Aged Care residential facility
  • Previous experience working in remote areas (highly desirable)
  • current Flu vaccination
  • current Covid vaccination
  • national criminal history Police Check (completed in the last 12 months)
  • a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland drivers licence 
  • a current yellow card exemption or an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain prior to commencement)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You' completion certificate (visit https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au to access this free module). at completion of the course, you will be provided with a certificate of completion which you can forward to **********@selectability.com.au
