Our client, a large Queensland Government Department, is seeking to engage an experienced Agile Business Analyst for their Compliance in the Field (CitF) Project. You will undertake business analysis activities necessary to implement the solution for the CitF Project and deliver the supporting change to achieve the outcomes for the Service Delivery Transformation (SDT) Program successfully. The role involves working in a cross-functional team including a Principal BA, Product Owners, Project Managers, Delivery Lead/Scrum Master, other Business and Technical Analysts, Subject Matter Experts, Developers, Testers, and their partner Procensol and other external vendors. This project is one of three within the SDT Program.
This is an initial 10-month contract with a potential 6-month extension, based in Newstead.
About you
- You will be an experienced Agile Business Analyst with an ability to work in a cross-functional Agile team with project managers, developers, testers, product owners, other business analysts, Subject Matter Experts and partner/vendor staff.
- You will be innovative, strongly customer focused, collaborative, very comfortable liaising with business stakeholders, an enthusiastic advocate for your assigned projects, flexible in your approach to work to deliver effective business value through application of agile practices, principles and lean thinking.
- You will have experience in delivering solutions on Case/Workflow Management platforms. You will preferably have direct experience with the Appian platform.
- Willing to undertake related tasks, initiate, influence, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. Facilitate effective communication to promote successful adoption of change with the respective business areas.
- As the SDT Program is already under way with a partner engaged, you will be required to come up to speed quickly and maintain a high work rate.
- Engage stakeholders through workshops, presentations, and individual meetings to elicit business requirements.
- Document business requirements in the user story format by following Agile techniques.
- Work closely with technical resources, i.e. developers, solution architects, testers, from our partner Procensol on the business impacts of implementation options and compromises.
- Participate in product backlog refinement to clarify and elaborate user story details, define business-driven acceptance criteria to assist with development and testing of the solution with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Participate in other Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Retrospective, Sprint Review, Daily Stand-up, Release Planning and support UAT sessions (as required).
- Contribute to discussions regarding options to identify and enable acceptable business improvement solutions.
- Manage change requests by negotiating feedback based on the MOSCOW technique with the Product Owner and raise change requests for formal approval to the approving committee.
- Lead detailed systems design process by documenting project artefacts including but not limited to functional/non-functional requirements, interface requirements, data requirements.
- Use Confluence and JIRA tools for documenting different business artefacts.
