Job description

u&u Recruitment Partners are proud to be partnering with one of Queensland's largest Government Departments that delivers diverse services which make a real difference to the lives of Queenslanders. This is an initial 6-month day rate contract based in Brisbane's CBD with Work From Home (WFH) flexibility options available.

As an Agile Product Owner, you will be responsible for defining and prioritising the product backlog, ensuring that the product meets the needs of the business and its stakeholders and guiding the development team towards delivering high-quality products in a timely manner. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and the development team to ensure that the product roadmap aligns with the overall
business strategy and goals.

About the Role

Define and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring that it aligns with the business goals and meets the needs of the business and its stakeholders;

Collaborate with the development team to ensure that the product backlog is properly refined and estimated and that the team is aligned on the product vision and goals;

Work with internal stakeholders to gather and prioritise requirements and communicate progress and product changes to stakeholders;

Provide guidance and direction to the development team, answering questions and providing feedback throughout the development process;

Continuously evaluate and optimise the product roadmap, ensuring that it aligns with changing business conditions;

Manage and communicate product release plans, including coordinating release schedules and ensuring that all necessary documentation and training materials are available in accordance with internal Change Management Framework; and

Continuously gather and analyse feedback from internal teams and stakeholders and incorporate it into the product backlog and development process.

About You

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience;

At least 2 years of experience as an Agile Product Owner;

Strong communication, collaboration and leadership skills;

Experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban;

Experience with product management and development tools, such as Jira, Trello and Confluence;

Knowledge of user experience design, software development and project management principles;

Demonstrated experience in delivering systems change though adhering to Change Management frameworks and disciplines;

Demonstrated experience in writing software development user stories;

Demonstrated experience creating and coordinating software development acceptance criteria;

Demonstrated experience creating and coordinating software development test plans;

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and requirements;

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of ambiguity; and

Passion for delivering high-quality products that meet the needs of the business and its stakeholders.
