Donalda Motor Service is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Agricultural Equipment Technician and Fitter to join our team.
As an Agricultural Equipment Technician and Fitter, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and fabricating modifications to a wide range of tractors, machinery, and Agricultural Equipment. This position requires a combination of workshop-based tasks and field work, demanding versatility and adaptability to various environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnostic Procedures: Employ diagnostic tools and techniques to identify issues with tractors, machinery, and Agricultural Equipment.
- Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance tasks on Agricultural Equipment, including engine overhauls, hydraulic system repairs, electrical system troubleshooting, and gearbox maintenance.
- Fabricate modifications for machines to suit customer requirements.
- Parts Replacement: Replace faulty or worn parts as needed, ensuring proper installation and functionality.
- Routine Servicing: Conduct routine servicing tasks such as lubrication, oil changes, filter replacements, and belt adjustments to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
- Field Work: Respond to service calls and emergency breakdowns in the field, attending to Agricultural Equipment onsite. This may involve working in various weather conditions and rural environments.
- Customer Interaction: Interact with customers to understand their requirements and explain repair procedures.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service history for each piece of equipment serviced.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing repairs and maintenance tasks, prioritizing the safety of oneself and others.
- Continuing Education: Stay updated on advancements in Agricultural Equipment technology and attend training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Agricultural Equipment Technician and Fitter or similar role, preferably in a workshop and field service environment.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills specific to Agricultural Equipment.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment relevant to the agricultural sector.
- Solid understanding of tractor, machinery, and Agricultural Equipment systems and components.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and customer service skills.
-Physical stamina and the ability to work in rural environments and various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
Salary:
The salary on offer is $79,040.00 per year with the opportunity for overtime.
