Join AHR Australia's Graduate Program – Your Pathway to Success in Financial Advice

Who is AHR Australia?

AHR Australia stands as one of the largest advisory businesses in the country, representing the local arm of a multinational global advisory business spanning four continents. Renowned for delivering high-quality advice and services, AHR has earned its place as one of the largest advisory businesses globally. In Australia, AHR provides financial advice under its own license and extends its expertise across lending, accounting, and legal services.

AHR Australia Graduate Program

Embark on a unique and specialized journey into the financial advice industry with AHR Australia's Graduate Program. Designed for university graduates aspiring to launch their careers in financial advice, this program requires no prior advice experience. The one-to-two-year program provides a comprehensive experience, offering specialized guidance and structured training to set graduates on a successful career path.

As part of the program, graduates will be employed on a salaried basis and transition through various roles within AHR Australia.

Benefits of the Program

Entering the Graduate Program at AHR Australia provides an invaluable opportunity to gain first-hand experience, taking on real-life professional responsibilities from the outset. This experience allows you to expand your industry knowledge and build a diverse skill set. Working within functional internal teams, you'll learn from real-life situations and emerge as a well-rounded expert in the advice process.

Admin Program Stages

The program consists of several stages, guiding you through different business units and eventually into an advisory role. As an AHR graduate, you'll progress through the following stages:

  • Admin Assistant
  • Business Development Associate
  • Paraplanner
  • Starting Your Professional Year
  • Supervised Financial Adviser
  • Full Unrestricted Financial Adviser
How to Move Between Stages

Each stage of the program requires a high standard of competence. You will learn on the job and be mentored simultaneously. Moving through the program requires mastery of content and skills at each step. Each stage has its own Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and an internal exam to assess your knowledge.

A Professional Year with a Difference

AHR Australia offers unique opportunities to its qualified advisers not commonly available in the Australian advice industry. As an AHR graduate, your professional year will be unrestricted in terms of both product offerings and access to strategies not available to other advisers in the market. Additionally, AHR will provide you with high-quality client opportunities, ensuring you emerge from your professional year with a ready stream of income to support your journey toward validation.

Time Frame

The AHR Graduate Program is expected to take 12 to 24 months, allowing you to become a fully compliant and ready adviser. However, the timeframe may vary based on your individual performance, emphasizing the importance of learning, maintaining high standards, and passing exams.

Benefits

If you seek a structured, market-leading entry into financial advice without the typical conflicts or ambiguities, the AHR Australia Graduate Program is the ideal pathway for you. AHR Australia selects only the top graduates each semester, so if you believe you have what it takes, apply below and unlock your potential with AHR.

Administration Associate:

As the inaugural phase of AHR Australia's Graduate Program, the role of Administration Assistant caters to individuals with limited prior exposure to the inner workings of a high volume, broad advice advisory firm. Recognizing that new graduates may lack familiarity with various products, market solutions, client interactions, adviser collaboration, and the software employed in advisory firms, this role serves as the foundation for a deeper understanding of the business.

In the Administration Assistant capacity, you will immerse yourself in the behind-the-scenes life cycle of a client's implementation journey. This involves handling diverse responsibilities, from setting up accounts and managing client investments to liaising with third-party providers to resolve issues and directly engaging with clients to address implementation requirements. Far from a routine back-office position, this role offers a critical and in-depth introduction to the intricacies of the business and the broader financial advisory industry.

Key Skills Developed:

Product Knowledge: Develop a nuanced understanding of the diverse products available in the market. Learn when and how to strategically deploy each solution to achieve clients' financial goals.

Professional Communication: Engage in daily interactions with AHR advisers and clients. Cultivate effective and professional communication skills vital for a successful career in financial advice.

Time Management: Navigate the demanding and dynamic role with limited hours. Master the art of time management, a crucial skill in the fast-paced advisory environment.

Prioritization: Confront a continuous stream of urgent tasks. Learn how to effectively prioritize between immediate demands and your regular workload, a fundamental skill for successful advisers.

Investment Markets: Gain practical training in investment markets. Execute tasks such as placing orders and directly investing clients' funds. Acquire a comprehensive understanding of market dynamics and the fundamentals of client investments.

Accuracy: Execute tasks with precision and accuracy. Recognize the direct impact of errors on the company's financial standing and develop the ability to work efficiently without compromising accuracy.

Upon completing one quarter ahead of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), you become eligible to request the Administration Assistant exam. Successfully passing the exam with a minimum score of 80% allows you to progress to the next stage of the Graduate Program.

Main Skills Emphasized:

Industry Terminology, Structuring a Professional Week, Managing Tasks at Volume Without Errors, Understanding Advice Strategies, introduction to software

Secondary Skills Introduced:

Introduction to Investment Markets, Prioritization and Time Management, Professional Communication

Report: Practice Manager

Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Possess full working rights in Australia; please note that we do NOT provide visa sponsorships.
  • Have obtained all FASEA qualifications or be actively pursuing them with the goal of completion within the next 12 months
