Reporting to the Revenue Management Leadership, the Air Pricing Analyst is responsible for analysing current and proposed pricing and yield management strategies and methodologies to ensure that the targets for air margin are achieved.
The Air Pricing Analyst will independently develop detailed analysis processes to unearth insights previously inaccessible.
The successful candidate will be analytical, creative, and innovative but most importantly can use data to drive decisions.
This role can be based in either Brisbane or Melbourne.
Position Accountabilities:
- Working with the Revenue team to monitor and evaluate the overall revenue management strategy for in-store and online businesses
- Understand and apply the principles of revenue management to optimise the air margin income with “business as usual” pricing and sales activities
- Develop detailed analysis to report and track pricing performance
- Take ownership of specific market segments, acquire deep market intelligence to advise our selling businesses on pricing related strategies
- Continue developing a system to assist in comparing the market, along with our own data & liaise with all stakeholders on movements and alerts
- Liaise with the BI (Business Intelligence) team, develop, and maintain reports for actionable insights
- Prepare reports on achievements and pricing recommendations, present professionally to peers and leaders
- Create and amend procedures as necessary to ensure stakeholders engagement and continuous improvement
- Be part of an overall engagement with global marketing teams, help develop an RM approach for holiday packages
- Demonstrated success using analytics to inform a critical approach to pricing and the application of detailed margin
- Excellent computer skills are essential (advanced excel, SQL capabilities, Power BI)
- Strong problem solving, self starter and independent thinker, must be comfortable with developing solution with little assistance
- 1-3+ years previous experience in a finance or pricing analysis role
- Strong proactive communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively are critical
- Perform duties independently under general, minimal supervision within specific assignments
- Analyse, evaluate and integrate business processes and procedures
- Write logical, comprehensive, concise reports for management level
- Display initiative, troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Prior experience with database environments (SQLms, Oracle, Databricks etc…) Ability to work with large data sets
- Ability to drill down and understand underlying facts
- Takes ownership for successes and failures

- Bachelor's level degree or equivalent required; preferably in Economics, Statistics, Finance, Marketing Analytics, or Revenue Management
- Aviation and Travel experience - Desirable
- eCommerce background - Desirable
- OTE $85 k + super/incentives
