What you'll be doing
The Drug and Alcohol Clinician provides evidence based clinical services to individuals of all ages referred to the service with issues related to substance misuse and/or dependency.
Selection Criteria * Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency(AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated understanding of and skills in evidence based interventions for substance use and dependence, with a sound knowledge of the different classes of drugs, their effects and relevant interventions. Ability to use this knowledge to develop collaborative, person-centred care plans for consumers affected by substance misuse and dependence.
- Demonstrated understanding of the broad health and social impact of substance abuse and dependence, and commitment to using the harm minimisation approach when intervening to support consumers affected by substance misuse and dependence.
- Demonstrated high level communication skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with consumers, their families and carers and/or other stakeholders, and a demonstrated high level proficiency in computer literacy.
- Current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances.
This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive . All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy.
