The Forensic Hospital currently has Casual position for a skilled and enthusiastic Allied Health Assistant who has a commitment to patient care and clinical excellence, who will take up the challenge to join our professional team working within our unique health care environment.
About The Forensic Hospital, Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network
The Forensic Hospital is a high-secure forensic mental health facility in New South Wales, operated by Justice Health NSW. This facility provides specialist, therapeutic inpatient care for adults and adolescent forensic, correctional and high-risk civil patients.
A multidisciplinary team of medical, nursing and allied health professionals are dedicated to providing a care across the clinical spectrum, from high dependency and acute care, to long stay and rehabilitation care.

What you'll be doing
The Allied Health Assistant will provide assistance and support to the Allied Health team in the delivery of Allied Health Services to patients of the Forensic Hospital. The Allied Health Assistant will work under the direct or indirect supervision of an Allied Health Practitioner will facilitate patient care by providing clinical and administrative support.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure to address the selection criteria below: * Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent tertiary qualification in a relevant field, or related work experience and a willingness to work towards certification with the support of Justice Health NSW
- Previous experience in working with people with a mental illness.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required) as delegated by supervising Allied Health Professional.
- Demonstrated computer literacy skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and email applications.
