About your opportunity
This is a permanent part time position, 38 hours per fortnight.
As an Allied Health Assistant, you will contribute to patient care by providing clinical support tasks delegated under the direct or indirect supervision of an Allied Health Professional.
The Sub Acute Care Unit is responsible for providing restorative and rehabilitation services to older and younger people in the sub-acute stage of their illness or injury recovery phase; to promote independence in activities of daily living that helps regain functional capacity and reduce functional decline. SACU is a stand-alone unit located on the eastern campus (off site) of the Townsville Hospital and the total number of beds in SACU is forty-five (45), consisting of two independent living units and a mix of sub-acute rehabilitation and geriatric cohort of patients.
Generous remuneration package value up to $36,860 p.a. comprising:
- Salary range of $30.99 to $32.58 p.h. (CA3)
- Annual leave with 17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
Requirements
- It is a mandatory requirement to be and to remain vaccinated against COVID-19.
- While not mandatory, a Certificate IV – Allied Health Assistant would be well regarded. Evidence of any Certificates/Qualifications held are to be provided prior to commencement of duty.
- The position requires the incumbent to operate a class “C” motor vehicle, and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty.
- The Sub- Acute Care Unit may provide services across a seven-day period. The successful candidate may be required to participate in a seven-day rostering system.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
- 6 month probation period may be applicable.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
