Job description

Statewide Mental Health Services

Allied Health Graduate – $75,473 per annum

Permanent Fulltime – Multiple Positions - $25,000 Scholarships Available

Make a difference in people’s lives - be part of a team where your dedication sees results for individuals, the community and your own career.

We are seeking occupational therapists, social workers, and psychologists with provisional or general registration, to join us in Statewide Mental Health Services (SMHS) as an Allied Health Graduate. The Allied Health Graduate Program is an exciting opportunity to commence work in this supportive and innovative team, featuring contemporary, evidence-informed practise that sees our Mental Health clinicians closely linked to the broader multidisciplinary team. We are large, established teams of high-achieving professionals; a mix of passionate locals and new Tasmanian adventurers who will welcome your energy and experiences into our group dynamic. Here, you can learn alongside a team full of national and international experience, work across a vast range of the profession, hone your craft, and make a difference to the lives of our community. You do this while also having time to enjoy your life outside of work and all that this place has to offer.

In this graduate position you will rotate through various streams, including child and adolescent Mental Health, adult Mental Health, and older persons Mental Health, across inpatients, outreach, complex care and community services. You will participate in regular professional development, with a structured supervision program.

Here you will be encouraged to be yourself, to learn, to grow and to develop meaning in your work. You will have a powerful connection to consumers and their families, and the community will encourage your success. In Tasmania we support a culture of creation and human connection, which feels both old fashioned and… like the only future worth pursuing.

You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to breath-taking coastlines, National Parks, and incredible fresh produce crafted by locals. After a hard day at work, you don’t have to sit in traffic for an hour. You decompress with a wander through your home city, an easy commute along the water, or put on your boots and tell it to a mountain.

This is a place where you can establish a life and career built around purpose and quality time. We’ll look after you from the very beginning, ensuring you are fully welcomed into our culture. As an Allied Health team, we are dedicated to the development of our people and will work to help you to achieve your goals.

When you apply, we will ask you to rank your preferences for which of our three beautiful regions you would like to work in. Discover more here:
