The role:

An exciting opportunity exists for enthusiastic Associate Nurse Unit manager to join the Broadmeadows Surgical Centre team at Northern Health.

This role requires the successful candidate to have previous experience working within an operating theatre environment in a leadership or management role, as well as proven ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience and good working knowledge of Operating Theatres and Day Procedure requirements. 
  • Minimum 12 months ANUM experience working in operating theatres or day procedure unit.
  • Past experience in a operating theatre Floor Coordinator role.
  • Experience in emergency patient management.
  • Experience and good understanding of bed access and patient flow to surgical wards.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster, inclusive of AM/PM/Weekend shifts.
  • Post Graduate qualifications in Peri-operative Nursing or equivalent.
  • Highly developed and effective verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist and support change.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to Quality Improvement
