As the Group Financial Controller- ANZ for Goodyear & Dunlop Tyres, you will be responsible for ensuring we provide accurate and reliable strategic financial information, advice and data analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting to both internal and external stakeholders.

About the Role

With 6 direct reports, the primary focus of this role is to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting in compliance with Goodyear accounting policies. This position is also responsible for proactively partnering with the Leadership Team and FPA team to ensure the Country and SBU finance goals and objectives are achieved. This includes providing analytical support, strategic financial insight and perspective and commercially focused mindset.

Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Provide financial reporting and tax services and ensure solid business control and compliance environment for all GDT operations in Australia and New Zealand, including Total Tyre (subsidiary) business.
  • Maintain accounting records, external and internal financial reporting in Australia and US GAAP. Compliance with Australian accounting and tax legislation and also USA Sarbanes - Oxley regulations.
  • Establish visibility and presence within the organization to communicate strong tone at the top relative to the internal control environment. This includes providing periodic training to non-finance managers in the organization.
  • Provide leadership/strategic role in supporting country financial performance (EBIT and Free Cash Flow) including driving continuous improvement initiatives related to finance processes and systems to ensure sufficient support to the business operation to achieve financial objectives and participating on the preparation of Annual Operating Plan (AOP) within the finance team.
About You

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification and proven experience in a similar role within a large, dynamic business. Demonstrated technical skills in areas of accounting principles and numeracy is essential as is experience in financial and KPI reporting along with ability to lead and manage complex processes with interdependencies and multiple stakeholder groups, and ability to engage with and influence senior stakeholders. You will be comfortable to challenge the status quo with a solution focused mind, and critically bring a level of humility to your natural approach.

To be successful in this position you will have the following skills and attributes;
  • Tertiary qualification with a major in accounting
  • Certified accounting qualification - CPA or ACA
  • MBA or graduate diploma in business discipline is desired.
  • Minimum 5 years in corporate accounting in a management position preferably in multi-national organizations. Previous Finance Controller experience. Public accounting/auditing & manufacturing accounting experience
  • Knowledge in IFRS and USGAAP
  • A visible and passionate leader internally who has the personal courage to recommend/make difficult decisions
  • Able to analyze and grasp a situation quickly from different perspectives and create well-reasoned solutions
  • Demonstrates ethical and moral behavior, unquestionable integrity, and character
  • Highly organized and has ability to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities
  • Through effective communications skills, able to present ideas and complex, technical information clearly and persuasively to a wide range of audiences
  • Interpersonal skills that establish and maintain excellent relationships and credibility quickly
  • Creates team atmosphere while achieving key objectives
  • Desire to grow professionally with an interest in a manufacturing company including a willingness to relocate for growth opportunities
