Job description

Wyla Residential Services provides a safe environment for people to withdraw from alcohol and/or other drugs and offers a live-in rehabilitation service for those who have completed a detox program.

We are looking for a AOD Pre and Post Rehab worker to join our medium-sized team at the Bloomfield Hospital Campus just outside Orange.

This full-time role is based on-site, delivering individual and group-based counselling to support clients with entry and exit of the facility.  The salary for this role is $82,043.00 to $98,108.00 depending on experience and qualifications. We also offer Salary Packaging to increase your take-home pay.

Your Opportunity

Joining Lives Lived Well as an AOD Pre and Post Rehab Worker gives you the chance to work with a diverse range of clients, develop your skills in the AOD space, and be part of a group of people who are passionate about what they do.

You don’t need to be an AOD specialist, but you will need to have a background in community service, a solid understanding of person-centred care, and know how to complete client assessments.

You will also have the following skills and attributes:

  • Client support and coordination including risk assessment and screening, and providing recommendations for suitable service support
  • Understanding of evidence-based practice principles and how to apply them
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to adapt these to your audience
  • A calm approach and mature demeanour – along with patience and resilience, and the ability to relate effectively to a range of people, often in times of high-stress and emotion
  • Solid computer skills and an understanding of the importance of keeping case notes and other information accurate and current
  • Being a self-starter who can work autonomously, balance your workload, and manage your own time effectively. You will be flexible and able to switch tasks seamlessly

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant human services field would be highly regarded, but more importantly you will have passion, commitment, and a great attitude with a genuine alignment to the Lives Lived Well values.  Our values are:

  • We are humble, human, and full of hope
  • We show up and share
  • We ask: Why not? And what’s next?
  • We leave a positive wake

Benefits of Working at Lives Lived Well

Working at Wyla offers the opportunity to experience a changing environment where no two days are the same.  It’s a relaxed, safe, and enjoyable workplace where you will be supported by a Team Leader who promotes autonomy and accountability in his team.  You can see the full benefits of LLW by checking our website but these include:

  • Five extra days paid leave each year
  • Regular one to one meetings, team meetings, and out of work team activities
  • An EAP for you and your family including counselling and wellbeing services
  • Salary Packaging options to increase your take home pay
  • Discounted access to a range of gyms, pool, and fitness centres across Australia

Our successful candidate will be required to obtain a National Police Check and hold a current Australian Drivers Licence.
