We are looking for an Application Technologist to join our team. This position is based in our Melbourne lab in Australia. We all chip in when and where it is needed, have a flat structure but high standards, enjoy a good laugh and a pragmatic and operational approach to supporting our agenda. We love to learn and genuinely find our purpose and passion in Oterra.
What will your day-to-day look like?
- Handling the Day-to-day operations of the Applications Laboratory including planning and execution of customer requests, carrying out shelf-life monitoring and stability work, answering technical queries from sales, customers, and market partners, and ensuring the lab is in a good operating condition.
- Conduct projects & lab application work as assigned by the Head of Applications APAC & China and in consultation with the ANZ sales team, regional teams as well as global teams if needed.
- Working as a team to manage & handle the sample request system for our customers in ANZ and maintaining the color sample library in the lab.
- Travel within Victoria and interstate (and possibly overseas) with our sales team and supporting them for customer visits, conducting training sessions and, also special events with our customers and market partners.
- Support global R&D and Application activities.
Experience and skills required
- Qualification in Food Technology or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in Food Industry / Food Ingredients industry.
- Detail oriented.
- Good analytical skills.
- Excellent communication – verbal & written.
- A good understanding of local and global food regulatory compliance.
- Able to travel within Australia and overseas.
