Job description

The Role
The Aerodromes Maintenance Program Manager (AMPM) plans and monitors the implementation of the Aerodrome Maintenance Program across certified RAAF Aerodromes, ensuring they are sustained IAW DASR.139 regulation and applicable aerodrome standards. The AMPM will be accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to the aerodrome maintenance requirements. They will liaise with internal and external service providers to set priorities for DASR 139 compliance and provide advice to Aerodrome Maintenance Program Sponsors based on legislation, policy and procedures. They will identify, report and track progress of aerodrome maintenance activities for DASR 139 certified aerodromes to ensure the aerodrome certification basis is maintained.

The AMPM may be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.

The airbase operations team assists with delivering Defence capability, by providing certified aerodromes that are well maintained and support safe flight operations on Defence Bases across Australia. We deliver a range of functions to satisfy the Aerodrome Maintenance Program, assuring appropriate ongoing maintenance is carried out by suitably qualified, competent and authorised individuals and/or organisations.
