The Role
The Electromagnetic Warfare Intelligence Maritime Systems Program Office (EWIS-Maritime SPO) is seeking a highly professional, motivated APS 6 Administration Officer to join the newly established Adelaide team. As the APS 6 Administration Officer you will undertake procedural, operational, administrative and business support work within an integrated workforce. You will be exposed to a wide range of business activities relating to running a Systems Program Office (SPO), workforce management, task coordination and management, financial management activities, commercial support, corporate reporting and a wide variety of business planning and improvement initiatives.
As part of the EWIS-M SPO Business Management Unit, you will have sound business acumen, operate independently and be required to exercise sound judgement, decision-making and have a keen attention to detail. Operating within a high functioning team, you will be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to support the delivery of SPO business outcomes.
You will interpret and provide advice within the administration function based on legislation, policy and procedures. You will undertake research and analysis, conduct reviews, assessments and provide administrative support to achieve results. You will also perform a key role in the management of the Adelaide based workforce by assisting with recruitment, induction and performance management of APS and contracted staff.

About our Team
EWIS-Maritime SPO currently manages a number of electronic warfare systems fitted to both the surface and sub-surface fleet, such as the Nulka Decoy product and various Sensors and Electronic Attack products in both acquisition and sustainment phases. The SPO delivers these capabilities to both the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and United States Navy.
EWIS-Maritime SPO is widely dispersed across Australia with this position based at Adelaide, SA. The successful applicant will participate in an integrated team, including APS, military and contractor staff, to ensure the supported Electronic Warfare capabilities are delivered to the ADF and supported in accordance with operational and compliance requirements, budget, and service agreements.
In this role you will engage with members of diverse skills and disciplines who work together to provide governance, assurance and enabling services to support a wide variety of activities undertaken by EWIS-M SPO Executive, Projects and SPO business unit.

The successful candidate will have:
A record of achievement in business management, planning or operations with experience coordinating the delivery of a range of business activities;
Ideally, experience in workforce management including recruitment, induction, strategic performance management and off-boarding;
The capacity to think strategically and develop plans and processes to enhance the achievement of administration outcomes;
Strong written communication skills with the ability to draft and review complex procurement and communications/approval documentation;
