The Role
The position is accountable for managing the Flying Operations Quality Management processes. The successful applicant shall determine the nature and frequency of internal assessment activities necessary to ensure conformance with the applicable policy. The OAQM is responsible for:
- Planning and conduct of audits and health checks conducted by the HQ on Army aviation systems
- Management and control of internal quality management system (QMS) documentation, of corrective actions arising from any findings issued to the organisation and the management of a flying operations data base, focused on the retention of Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) to enable informed command assessment of the health of the QMS.
- Monitoring the QMS to determine where improvements can be made to operational airworthiness management practices, and recommending actions to improve the effectiveness of those practices.
About our Team
The successful candidate will work within the Directorate of Operational Airworthiness (DOPAW), within Headquarters Aviation Command.
The Directorate is responsible for aspects of Army Aircraft Weapon Systems, Flight Safety of the Aircraft Type. Aviation Support Systems, Aviation Medicine, Aviation Psychology / Human Factors and Army Air Operations, to ensure Army Aviation maintains Airworthiness.
These aspects encompass a range of activities including Army Aviation Policy formulation (OIP), Governance, Command Clearance, Review and Compliance Audit of Operational Procedures, Management of Aviation Safety and Reporting, Management of Flight Manuals and Aircrew Records
