The purpose of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is to implement the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) which will support a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent disability. The NDIA will also provide great benefit to the families and carers of Australians living with a disability. The NDIS is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean peace of mind for every Australian, for anyone who has, or might acquire, a disability.
About the Team The Complex Support Needs Branch provides specialised support for people with disability with additional complexity due to situational and personal factors. Roles within the branch may sit within the following teams:
· Complex Support Needs: supports participants who are in the Complex Support Needs Pathway.
· Children and Young People : provides support to children with disability who currently reside outside of the family home in full time or part time voluntary arrangements acknowledged by the relevant state or territory.
· Liaison : provides support nationally to Justice system staff to improve communication between state systems and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
· Operations : Provides a range of operational support to all teams in the branch, including triage and workflow of participants through the CSN pathway.
About the Position
The APS4 Administration Officer is a team membership position that will work within defined parameters to their area of responsibility. The role will be required to apply well-established policy, principles, practices and procedures to achieve outcomes that supports and contributes to NDIA’s objectives to “build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme”.
The role will be required to provide operational and administrative support that is informed and directed by sound knowledge and may undertake some research and analysis activities.
The APS4 Administration Officer will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate with and provide advice to resolve moderately complex enquiries.

- Be able to demonstrate an understanding of how disability impacts a participants life
- Demonstrate ability to have an objective viewpoint on situations that may involve significant trauma
- Having some basic understanding of funded supports in a participant’s plan
- Have an understanding of NDIS Act and legislative principles
- Be able to work autonomously in a supported team environment
- Work efficiently and effectively with Microsoft programs (Teams, Excel, Planner)

Position Specifics
