The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an APS6 Communications Officer - Technical Writer to join the team within a Federal Government Agency based in Geelong. This is a 12 month assignment paying $60.26 per hour plus super.
The APS6 Communications Officer - Technical Writer provides engagement and communication solutions and advice across the agency. The role will support the development and implementation of multi-channel engagement and communications strategies across internal and external audiences.
Responsibilities include;
Contribute to the delivery of timely, innovative, efficient and evidence-based communication strategies, plans, content and activities
Develop, implement and monitor targeted communication and engagement plans
Manage internal and external communication and engagement channels to support business areas to reach their intended audiences
Utilise report metrics to review the impact of communication and engagement approaches
Implement a communication and engagement business partnering model, guiding staff with best practice advice and quality assurance
Manage public facing communications and engagement approaches
Produce content for communications channels and platforms including website, ministerial and executive briefings, event materials and social media
Key skills required for this role;
Experience as a technical writer
Experience with legislative requirements and complex analysis that need to be understood and communicated simply
In addition, you will bring -
Significant communications experience
Strong initiative
Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
Proficient in Microsoft applications
Previous government experience would be advantageous
