The Opportunity:
As a Senior Communications Officer you will support the wider communications branch with delivering essential and timely communications advice and content, relating to aged care reforms.
This is an initial 6 month labour-hire contract with scope to extend further. The position may be located in either Canberra, Melbourne or Brisbane.
Key duties will include:
Support the development and implementation of communication, engagement, change and media strategies for key departmental projects
Support in the management of internal clients, including drafting internal communication plans and strategies.
Lead and manage other duties in the team including drafting corporate messaging, authoring corporate messaging, SharePoint publishing, inbox management and internal events management.
Support team performance, productivity and accountability for outcomes.
Contribute to section corporate management, planning and reporting processes
Skills and Experience required:
To be considered for this role you must have experience in a senior communications role of at least 7 years. Experience in the government sector is highly desirable, although not essential.
Experience in, or knowledge of, the aged care or health space is favourable.
