Our client is a Federal Government Agency responsible for delivering a national scheme. Our client's primary focus is ensuring the inclusion and support of those affected by disabilities. They work with many organisations in the community in order to achieve this goal. This opportunity lies within the technical advisory branch of the agency and is well suited to allied health clinicians with specialist experience within the disability sector.
Your new role
In this new role you will provide expert clinical advice and support to staff in relation to complex disabilities and health related supports. You will support partners and planners to approve NDIS support plans in specific areas that require specialist knowledge. You will also participate in improving service delivery and ensuring correct support is being provided to those with complex disabilities. Key responsibilities include:
Provide subject matter expertise on the most appropriate supports to achieve outcomes
Provide solutions and support delegates with advice when complex responses are required
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent decision making
Contribute to policy and operational guidelines to maximise performance
Ensure high quality written advice and record keeping
Promote a supportive and positive work environment
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role you will hold an allied health qualification with experience in complex clinical advisory. Your expertise and experience in the disability industry will allow to achieve in this role as you provide your expertise to other staff. Key requirements include:
Preferred Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Qualifications in the following areas are also accepted: Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Practitioners, Behaviour Support Practitioners or Medico Legal Allied Health
Proven understanding and knowledge of disability and its impact on individuals
Strong interpersonal skills – strong report writing skills are essential
Ability to provide coaching and training to staff including presentation of evidence
An understanding of insurance and compensation systems
Competency in applying assessment tools to identify relevant supports

You will also receive an excellent hourly rate at an APS6 level. This position allows work from home flexibility and is looking for immediate starts pending clearances.
