The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is deeply committed to quality in Outside School Hours Care and Early Years for children, families, school communities and educators.
As the VictorianArea Manager, you will have strong business acumen, be able to monitor, maintain rostering and recruitment, ensure legislation and regulations are adhered to within each service you manage and support After The Bell Aus business structure. Most importantly you will mentor the program Co-ordinator’s and their team to support and provide a high quality of care for the children, families and the School community.
The Role
Reporting directly to the State Managers in Victoria as the purpose of this role is to provide commercial leadership and operational direction to multiple OSHC programs based across Victoria and NSW under the After The Bell Aus ethos. The role is based in Victoria, working partly from home and requires travel via car and air travel around Victoria and NSW on a weekly to fortnightly basis, managing up to 12 programs.
You will ensure all services you manage have appropriate staffing and management of the programs weekly rostering and recruitment needs. You will work directly with educators, providing support around quality programs, assessment and rating and service provision, both in person, over the phone and Zoom ensuring services meet and exceed their obligations under the National Quality Framework and business standards.

- Provide mentoring and guidance to Co-ordinators and staff to promote a high level of understanding of the Early Years and School-Aged Learning Framework and the delivery of engaging, inclusive, creative, and environmentally friendly programs for children.
- Ensure programs are well set up and maintained. As well as support any program pack-up requirements.
- Manage and oversee staff training, rostering and recruitment for your allocated programs.
- Require weekly driving to visit allocated programs.
- Maintain and develop positive relationships and effective communication with various external agencies and School representatives.
- Manage internal and external reporting requirements efficiently.
- Ensure each program holds an assessment and rating level of ‘meeting’.
Experience
- Must have experience as an Area Manager, managing multiple childcare services at the one time with a minimum of one year experience.
- A high level of knowledge of the Early Years and School- Age Learning Frameworks and Education and Care Act and Regulations.
- The ability to work independently and work remotely from home.
- The ability to conduct a high level of travel and organise own accommodation and flights within budget.
- The ability to develop positive working relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- A high level of written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent leadership, people, and time management skills.
- A high level of understanding of operational best practices for the business.
- Ability to influence a large geographically dispersed team.
- A work ethic that embraces a high level of integrity, loyalty, trust and reliability.
Our successful candidate will hold-
- Bachelor of Early Childhood or Diploma of Children Services or equivalent.
- Level 2 First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certification level 0012
- Blue Card and Working With Children
- Child Protection Training or willing to obtain
- Right to work in Australia
- Strong knowledge of computer skills and ability to learn and embrace software databases i.e.- Kidsoft and rostering
