Fixed Term Contract until June 2024 for a Desktop Support Officer with the South Australia Police (SAPOL).

Your new role

Working in a team environment you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in provisioning and servicing of end user devices such as laptops, desktops, mobile devices, other peripherals and licensed applications.

You will be involved in supporting and building the desktop SOEs, installations, configurations and maintenance of applications and devices, decommissioning of devices, asset management and documentation. You will be supporting and delivering technical advice across a diverse range of tools and technologies within SAPOL including Windows 10, Active Directory, SCCM, NetMotion, and Equitrac.

Your role will involve collaboration with other teams and departments within SAPOL as well as external vendors. You must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be a team player, eager to work together and exchange information whilst providing quality service to SAPOL staff.

Your experience working in a large and complex environment, along with your self-driven and highly motivated attitude, will help you to succeed in this role. In this role, you will be doing BAU work with the potential for opportunities to work on projects.

What you will need to succeed

Experience in the provisioning and support of desktop hardware, software and peripherals.
Demonstrated knowledge of current end user devices and technology required to undertake modern policing activities.
Previous experience with Windows 10, Active Directory and SCCM.
Ability to adapt to new and changing technologies and understand and apply new technology concepts.
Understanding and practical experience working in a SDLC and ITIL environment
Sound oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, establish rapport and persuade others.
Be available and willing to the possibility of working briefly away from home (typically not more than one week at a time).
Possession of and willingness to use a current driver’s licence.

Salary

ASO4 $74,315 – $77,901 per annum plus superannuation

Special Conditions

The incumbent must hold a current Australian work eligibility status and will be subject to a criminal history check. Incumbent may be assigned to other duties at this remuneration level or equivalent.
Some out of hours work and intra/interstate travel may be required.
The incumbent is required to participate in SAPOL’s iEngage program.
