Temporary opportunity with potential to become ongoing (35 hpw)
Location: Parramatta with flexible work arrangement and Hybrid Model
Clerk Grade 5/6, Salary ($89,707 - $98,982), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your role
This opportunity is to join the Briefings, Correspondence and Allocations Management team, which involves high volume coordination across the Department, its divisions, and agencies. The team is close-knit, change agile and has developed a reputation for providing exemplary customer service to all.
What you’ll do
The Assistant Coordinator reports to the Senior Coordinator and is deeply involved in the daily operations across the team. You will be handling sensitive documents from the public as well as within Government, and will be expected to use your discretion, judgement and diplomacy throughout.
Register, allocate, track and report on matters, including following up and negotiating with Divisions / Districts for the provision of information and advice to enable on time delivery of material and to enable follow up and escalation, as necessary
Assist with the preparation of accurate, well written quality correspondence and advice fir Ministers across a broad range of sensitive issues
Monitor mailboxes for new requests and matters complete, and distribute to the relevant team for action
Monitor and review systems and processes to ensure effective maintenance of information and records, evaluate the effectiveness of such systems, and make changes or recommendations for change
Assist with the preparation of accurate performance reports for ministerial offices and senior executives.
What we’re looking for

Key knowledge and experience
Knowledge of the machinery of government and knowledge of the procedures and systems required for management of ministerial correspondence, briefings and parliamentary material within the Department.
Good written and verbal communication skills, and knowledge of English grammar.
