A part of The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF) Group, the Creative Health (CH) is seeking an outstanding Assistant Curator/Program Officer to join our team.

THRF Group is an impactful and dynamic not-for-profit, which supports health and medical research, and patient care at hospitals across South Australia. Our culture encourages innovation and teamwork.

CH is driving collaboration, innovation and research to develop best-practice arts, music and health programs to improve the quality and experience of healthcare for patients, families and employees at hospitals across Adelaide, as well as the wider community

This role is responsible for assisting the Senior Curator in the creation and delivery of the CH programs within designated CH Galleries at multiple sites including the Royal Adelaide Hospital, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre, Lyell McEwin Hospital, Modbury Hospital and in 2023 the Repat Health Precinct. Working closely with the Senior Curator, Program Director of CH and other CH staff, the Assistant Curator/Program Officer will assist in the curation of the exhibition program, delivery of special projects and programs that align with CH strategic direction including external exhibitions, CH Art Prize, artists residencies, performance workshops and activities that provide linkages to state-wide arts festivals and events including Fringe, SALA and Tarnanthi.

You will ideally have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Curatorial Studies, Arts and / or Arts Management or equivalent experience
  • Personal drive and interest in arts and health industries
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of programs and /or events
  • An ability to think creatively and work with a broad and multi-disciplinary team to achieve organisational goals 
  • An ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholder groups including, government and communication professionals, medical professionals (researchers, clinicians, nurses), patients and donors 
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, CRM), SharePoint 
  • Basic working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Good project management skills with attention to project detail
  • Exceptional time management and ability to prioritise own workload
  • Demonstrated outstanding written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
  • Ability to accept change and remain effective while prioritising workload and delivering to the highest standard.
