Job description:
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is a senior leadership position in the Child Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS). The CHaPS provide state-wide universal and targeted community child health services to Tasmanian parents/carers, infants, and children.

The Role:
Manage and coordinate the human, financial and physical resources of the Child Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS) in a designated area to achieve the delivery of an effective and efficient service within available resources.
Monitor standards of care and ensure clinical management and service delivery is evidence based and in accordance with relevant legislative, regulatory, and ethical standards.
Work with the leadership team to encourage and facilitate effective teamwork across multi-disciplinary teams and provide leadership in the continuing development of a culture that places the child and family at the centre of care and strives for excellence in child and family health practice, management, teaching and learning.
Promote and support a culture of learning and enquiry by facilitating the development of relevant research, and the active pursuit of contemporary professional knowledge and its application to the child and family health practice setting.

The Area:
This role provides senior leadership to Child Health and Parenting Services across the North and Northwest areas of Tasmania working with a professional workforce to provide services to children and families 0-5 within this area. The position can be based in either Launceston or Burnie dependant on applicant preference with travel between office sites across the region encouraged.

The Child Health and Parenting Service workforce across this region provide services from a range of diverse clinic sites, parenting centres located in Burnie and Newnham and central office hubs at Burnie, Devonport and Launceston.

Details of Appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Location:
Burnie or Launceston, Tasmania

Salary:
$132,215 per annum + 10.5% superannuation

Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2019

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type

Professional Development Allowance of up to $750 per annum

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
Current Working with Children Registration

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
Post graduate qualifications in Child and Family Health Nursing or another Post graduate qualification relevant to the service area
Current Driver’s Licence
