The Assistant DirectorProcurement and Contracts role will work closely with business areas to develop all procurement documentation and manage procurement activities (primarily RFQ and RFT processes) and contractmanagement activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage procurement timeframes and risks.
- Conduct assurance reviews and reporting for procurement and contract management activities.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including in particular, Procurement ACT, Major Projects Canberra and business areas.
- Promote and apply the ACTGovernment procurement framework, including legislation, policies and processes.
Key requirements for the ideal candidate include:
- Relevant qualifications would be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated understanding of procurement and contract management policies, procedures, and frameworks
- Strong understanding of ACT Government procurement legislation and requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting procurement and contract management activities, such as creation of procurement plans, RFQ/RFT documentation, evaluation, negotiation and contract finalisation
- Ability to work within limited timeframes whilst planning, prioritising and organising work to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills and consistently provide high quality customer service.
