What this opportunity involves: 

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an Assistant Leasing Manager. This is great for someone with good leasing and property management skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. 

As an Assistant Leasing Manager, you will be responsible for assisting in the management of a diverse portfolio of properties for our client, the Commonwealth of Australia. The portfolio includes a wide range of asset classes, from commercial offices to specialist sites and housing. Your key role will be to support in undertaking various leasing activities, including lease negotiations and terminations, while ensuring compliance with contract requirements.

What this role involves: 

  • Assist in managing the portfolio to meet contract requirements.
  • Abstract and approve lease data in property management information systems.
  • Enhance existing playbooks for processing functions and adopt best practices.
  • Oversee rent roll management and lease payments.
  • Plan and implement leasing transactions in accordance with planning documents and client requirements.
  • Prepare documentation in adherence to contract and client specifications.
  • Conduct market research and provide benchmarking advice.
  • Submit accurate business cases, transaction analysis, and due diligence for client approval.
  • Manage team engagement and communication for transactions affecting other work streams.
  • Address ad-hoc leasing issues and assist with dispute resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislative, policy, and operational frameworks.
  • Assist client with obtaining necessary approvals and provide relevant information as required.
  • Foster teamwork, cooperation, and performance excellence within the team.
  • Build and develop effective relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and attend regular meetings related to the portfolio.
  • Liaise with other internal stakeholders to maintain operational understanding of the property portfolio.
  • Collaborate with lawyers, valuers, and agents to ensure accurate lease documentation and execution.
  • Engage with the Strategic Property Advisor and Department of Finance to support the Whole of Australian Government leasing strategy.
  • Assist with financial administration, including rent roll preparation and budgeting.
  • Support account management by preparing reports and presentations as required.
  • Assist in maintaining client websites and other administrative tasks assigned by management.

  • You must be an Australian Citizen in order to comply with our client’s requirement with the ability to successfully gain and retain baseline security clearance 
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in property management, leasing, or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of lease administration and property management systems.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Customer-centric mindset with a commitment to delivering excellent service.
