About the role
We are seeking an energetic and mature minded individual to assist in the day-to-day management of operations at our grain site in Premer.
The core accountabilities of the Assistant Site Manager position include:
Assisting with staff rostering and day-to-day supervision of the team and workflow, including management of harvest casuals
Engaging with growers and other customers
Toolbox talks, assist with compliance activities and reporting
Sample grain received at the site (spearing using automatic or manual spears and then test for protein, moisture and contaminants against specifications; entering data into our system)
Receive sampled grain via truck at the weighbridge and enter weights into our system
Monitor the flow of grain from truck unloading and onto hopper, auger or other equipment
Protect and store grain in bunkers or permanent silo storage (includes building, breaking-down and tarping bunkers)
Sweep, shovel, blow down dust and other general housekeeping activities including site presentation
Operate equipment including augers, tractors, hoppers, loaders
Maintain a high level of customer service
About your experience
Ideally, you will have some hands-on experience in a supervisory role gained within agriculture, maintenance, mining, rail or similar. However, we’re more than willing to develop someone into this role if they can demonstrate potential to be a good people leader. We’re looking for someone with good behaviours: committed to developing, supporting and engaging a team; able to build positive and productive relationships; self-managing and enthusiastic.
A good working knowledge of OH&S is preferred. Basic computing skills are required to work in our systems. Licences or certifications such as loader, skid-steer, H or M class licence and/or first aid would be advantageous.
